12 Jan GNV Ferryboat Fantastic Collides with Viking Star Cruise Liner in Barcelona
Today, at the port of Barcelona, the Great ferryboat from the Italian shipping business, Grandi Navi Veloci (GNV), hit the Viking Sta r cruise liner run by Viking Cruises.
There were no injuries associated with the accident which occurred around midday regional time.
The occurrence was given my attention by a reader of this blog site.
The Great is a cruise-ferry/ roll-on roll-off ship (“” ro-ro””) which brings travelers and cars.
A video, apparently was taken by a stevedore from among the cranes at the container terminal in Barcelona, reveals the Italian ferryboat approaching the cruise liner.
The Great ferryboat obviously dropped an anchor to attempt and stop the drift of the ferryboat into the cruise liner after the Fantastic ' s engines stopped working in the harbor.
There were other cruise liner in Barcelona at the time of the mishap, run by AIDA, Costa and MSC.
The occurrence was released in the VanGuardia paper in Barelona in a short article entitled Scare in the Harbor
